Pharmacist – Independent Prescribing Course

My name is Caragh Connolly I am a community pharmacist that works in Greenlaw Pharmacy. I have been working in community pharmacies in the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland for GLM Romanes since 2012.

I graduated with a MPharm degree in 2011 from Strathclyde University in Glasgow and after a pre registration year qualified as a pharmacist in 2012.

I am undertaking Independent Prescribing course at University of Strathclyde to become a prescribing pharmacist that can run clinics. I will be spending some time at Greenlaw Surgery to learn more about assessing and diagnosing patients, taking medical histories and writing prescriptions.

My area of interest is cardiovascular conditions, particularly high blood pressure and heart failure.

Thanks

Caragh
