Prescription Ordering

Prescription Ordering

Ordering of  prescriptions is the patients responsibility, please ensure you order your items in a timely manner and ensure you don’t run out especially if you are going on holiday.

If you require medications on a repeat basis please tick the medication you require on the re-order form given to you with your last prescription and hand it in to the surgery or Greenlaw Pharmacy. If you wish to collect your medications at a different pharmacy we will post your prescription to you or the pharmacy provided you send a stamped addressed envelope.

Telephone requests for repeat prescriptions can only be accepted on the prescription line, 01361 885161, this is a 24 hour answer phone service. Please speak clearly and follow the instructions given.

Prescriptions can be ordered online through your patient access account.  If you do not have a patient access account please ask at reception.

Although all prescription requests are processed the same (working)  day, please try order repeat medications at least 2 working days before your medication runs out. Acute prescriptions (those not prescribed on a repeat basis) may take longer as the GP will need to review your request.

If you are out of the area and have forgotten or run out of your medication you will need to; send us an SAE and detail what medications you require, we will then post the prescription to you.  Alternatively if you are out of the area and do not wish to do this you will need so see a GP locally as a temporary resident and request a prescription from them.  It may be worthwhile checking with the local pharmacy first as they can provide an emergency supply of some medications.

Under no circumstances will we fax a prescription to an out of area pharmacy a SAE must always be provided
